BRAD CARTER STUDIOS
Reviews
For years, I've been taking acting classes in Atlanta. I've always had wonderful teachers who were able to teach me at my current level. That being said, I've been praying for an acting coach that can take all of the knowledge that I've garnered over so many years, and make it actually make sense!
With Brad as my acting coach, I have been able to level up my performances both on and off-camera.
Brad has been a successful working actor in this industry for decades. He takes all of the knowledge that he has learned over the years in this industry and he teaches you the following:
1) how to look at a script (Script Analysis),
2) how to look at the camera (On-Camera Technique),
3) how to execute emotionally charged/ action packed/ complicated scenes that are 100% true and equally captivating.
In my years of training, I've picked up some habits that do not help me service the script or my character. With Brad, we have been consistently addressing and undoing everything that has been a hindrance to me and my performances.
I have had some phenomenal acting coaches during my journey an an actor, hands-down Brad Carter is icing on the cake!
If you are looking for a teacher who knows what they're doing, has an extensive resume, and is passionate about helping their students reach the next level in this industry, then look no further, you've found him.
Also, Brad took my headshots and helped me finally paint the picture to casting directors, producers and directors, that I can be the characters that they envision in their projects.
If you are looking for someone who can guide you to tap into characters authentically and capture them on camera in a way that will further your career, then Brad is your guy!

"Let me just start with sharing my experience of why this class is valuable. Recently, I had a callback for a project, and after doing the scene a couple times, they gave me a new scene and new character to cold read. I had no time at all to read over the scene, but I applied everything Brad taught me, and I booked the role of that new character. It's not just the cold read though. The tools you learn from Brad help you dig deeper with your character, find clues in the script, and make quick decisions while doing it. This class is a great environment to be a part of, and Brad is a fun guy to be around. He cares, takes his time with each individual, and gives great, detailed feedback. "

"I was very happy to hear that Brad decided to offer acting classes. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with him on Syfy’s ‘Ascension’ and have been a fan of his work ever since. Not only is he a talented actor who takes risks and always finds ways to be true to the character, he is also a wonderful photographer and musician which only help to enhance the overall creativity of the scene whether it be on set or in an audition space. Brad has helped me numerous times with getting the best on a self tape that I can, and I have no doubt that he will bring that same confidence, daring and fun to his acting classes."

"After studying Strasberg method for a year, I decided I also needed a coach to teach me on-camera acting and how to audition. I was learning acting, but I had NO idea how to do it in front of a camera. My daughter Nora needed her first headshots and that's when we met Brad. After that session, we did an actual career consult with Brad, and shortly after that began acting and auditioning classes with him.
Within 3 months we both signed with a very respected agent. It was amazing!!! As we began actually getting REAL auditions for REAL roles, I began to realize how much I didn’t know!!
Acting and this business has its own language; of which I knew absolutely nothing. I'm so glad that I had Brad to prepare me with that first consult. He continues to teach us weekly and also coaches us on our auditions.
I am consistently faced with words and situations I totally don't get, so I always have questions, to which he answers patiently, kindly, and completely. He also has his own list of things he knows I will need to know at some point.
Brad teaches out of love for the art of acting. He has been in this industry 2 decades and an industry consult with him (in my opinion) is critical for any new actor, or any actor transferring from theater to tv/film.
Brad is also an email away if you need more help or are in a confusing situation and need more clarification. No question is too silly or too complex. DO IT! Oh and we LOVE our headshots, and as of the time of this long endorsement, I have booked four commercials with Brad's help and one was actually WITH Nora, her first. We couldn't be more happy."

"Brad's class is the type of class that reminds you of why you love being an actor. I have grown more as an actor and person in 2 months in his class than I have in other classes in years. Everytime I leave his class, I am left inspired, challenged, and ready to come back for more. He truly meets every actor where they are at and somehow manages to always improve their performance with honesty, collaboration, and authenticity. I would recommend his class to anyone in the Atlanta area who is looking to improve, brush-up on, and hone their audition skills while also looking to challenge themselves as an artist."

“I’ve been a fan of Brad’s work in front of the camera for years and did a career consultation with him to gain insights and discuss the industry with someone I respect and look up to. The advice he gave from his decades of experience as a working actor was legendary. He was up front and honest while still lifting me up and offering very encouraging insight into my career, auditions, reels, and headshots. I spent a couple days implementing his advice on my reels after our consultation and received two awesome network auditions shortly after I uploaded them to actors access! Whether you’re just getting started or have been working for years I would recommend taking the time to invest in yourself and your career by working with Brad. I’m so glad I did this, and I can’t thank him enough for his guidance.”

"I attended my first class with Brad in October 2023 & I've been a constant student since.
I immediately connected with and responded to Brad's coaching style. I absolutely love the way he communicates - in both praise and opportunities of growth. Not only does he have this amazing ability to break down characters and scenes like no one I've ever seen, but he makes it so accessible to learn how to do it ourselves. Brad is also a working actor so even though it seems like he does all this with zero effort, he's learned it over decades of being in the trenches himself. He's an actor's instructor and as he learns your strengths & weaknesses, he chooses pieces that will challenge you & make you a stronger actor, and that is why I completely trust him with my training. And maybe most importantly, classes are fun & I look forward to them every week!"
Brad clutivates a creative, supportive, and constructive environment in his class, while taking the time to really work with you in scenes that he has selected specifically for you.
This class has helped me become more confident approaching a cold-read situation, self taping, and making strong choices with my character.
I love getting to learn from both watching the other actors, and from Brad's teaching, advice, insight, and perspective as a working actor with years of industry knowledge he is willing to share.

"We have absolutely loved working with Brad. When he took our daughter's headshots, we were struck by his patience, knowledge of the industry, and breadth of experience. My daughter seamlessly connected with him so it was a natural choice for us to turn to him for acting coaching. He crafts each coaching session to that person's needs and has been able to bring out such incredible energy and depth in my daughter. I would recommend him to anyone looking for acting coaching!
*UPDATE- She has just booked her first SAG role with Brad's coaching!!!"

"As a rookie actor who got a lead in an independent film…I needed guidance on a few scenes which I knew could pose some hurdles for me. It was a big deal for me to book this paid gig and I didn't want to disappoint. Brad offered to help me and to say he helped is an understatement. Not only does he have an obvious passion and mastery of the craft but he is able to combine that with his numerous on set experiences and communicate it in a way that just connects. Not only did I leave the session prepared but he discovered elements of my character that I had missed. He is down to earth with absolutely no ego (despite his awesome credits) creating an environment to really work, explore and communicate the scene. He is the real deal!”

Starting classes at Brad Carter Studios has been one of the best decisions I've made for my acting career. Not only have I learned so much in such a short time, I've also grown as an actor. Brad does a phenomenal job at creating an environment that feels safe fun, but also gives honest feedback and guidance that challenges me to go outside my comfort zone. I have felt nothing short of supported, encouraged, and cheered on in my time his studio. I'm really grateful for an acting coach who truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed, and I can't wait to see how I continue to improve as an actor!

"It is incredibly rare and wonderful to come across someone in Brad's position who is ego-free in a field where egos rule. Brad seems to be a person just like you and me when you first meet him. He doesn't exploit his credentials to entice people to enroll in his class, which is crucial since it demonstrates his commitment to assisting others in becoming the best actors they possibly can be. Brad is incredibly talented in his field! He is reliable and enjoyable to deal with. If only I could bring him to ALL of my auditions hahaha. But seriously his direction and advice has helped me develop as an actor, and I would encourage you to give him a shot. "

"I was feeling a little stuck in my acting career. I started training with Brad. He has helped me tremendously break thru and go into the next level. His coaching is just what I was looking for. He intuitively knew what type of role and scenes that I needed to be working on. He has been very kind and patient while I work to figure it all out. Brad is very personable and helpful, whether it be with script analysis, on camera work, or questions pertaining to the industry. He is reliable and honest. I can't wait to see how far my work goes while working with Brad."

"I did an industry consult with Brad and it was some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten. Because he is a working actor, he's able to give insight into many aspects of the industry that I was not aware of. He is encouraging while also very realistic about the business at the same time. Plus, he’s super down to earth and easy to talk to! I would highly recommend him to any actor that is newer to the acting scene and wants an insider perspective! After my consult there was no one else I wanted to shoot my first real headshots, and I LOVE them. Thank you Brad for getting me started in the right direction"!
